CSR

Our Culture of Social Responsibility

We believe that every action has an impact, and we have an ethical responsibility to ensure that our impact as a company is positive. This belief is embedded throughout our culture and reflected in our Purpose, Vision, and Values. It’s embodied by Amoria Bond’s Charitable Trust and accountable through our CSR commitments. The Amoria Bond Charitable Trust is a registered charity set up by the company in 2009 to promote and facilitate a culture of giving back. Primarily funded by contributions from the company and our employees, the Trust has donated over £650,000 to charitable causes worldwide.

Principle Aims and Objectives

Our CSR Commitments

Our CSR policy and commitments are reviewed annually to ensure we’re fulfilling our purpose of Progressing Lives Everywhere and that our actions are having a positive impact. Our current CSR commitments fall into four key impact areas outlined below.

Help the community

Help the Community is a core commitment in our five-year G.R.O.W.T.H. strategy. Through our Charitable Trust, we’ve promised to deliver five charitable projects over five years. In 2022, we funded an extension to Project Peru’s children’s refuge and built a soup kitchen.

Employee volunteering

We offer all employees a fully paid day each year to volunteer at a charity of their choice. Employees have spent that time decorating a children's hospice, fundraising for Francis House, delivering donations to Ukrainian refugees, clearing up local beaches and after Cologne's floods, helping at soup kitchens and homeless shelters and much more.

Mental Health and Well-being

We have qualified trained Mental Health First Aiders within each of our offices and run monthly well-being workshops and financial wellbeing webinars led by external experts. We also provide a dedicated mental health and well-being zone on our LMS, offering a range of resources and support 24/7.

Planting trees for a better future

We plant 1 tree for every NPS survey completed by our clients and candidates, 10 trees per employee every year, 100 trees every time an employee is promoted internally in celebration of their progression, and 1000 trees every time we open an office in a new global location. So far we've planted over 104,000 trees!

Our latest volunteering trip

In June 2022, 11 employees travelled to Peru to volunteer with the ongoing building work at a children's refuge in Las Laderas – a desert shanty town in the foothills of Lima.

Peru suffered the highest mortality rate from the COVID-19 pandemic globally, leaving even more children in desperate need. Project Peru's children's refuge houses care for and support children in the area.

Due to lack of space, children as young as 14 were left with nowhere to live, no chance of staying in school, and limited prospects in one of the world's poorest regions.

Our Charitable Trust funded construction efforts throughout the year to extend the refuge. The project provided jobs for local builders, tradespeople, teachers, and refuge staff, ensuring more children could complete their education and gain meaningful employment.

All of which will contribute back to their local economy and community – a positive, sustainable impact on the children's lives and wider community.

A legacy of sustainable impact

A legacy of sustainable impact

While most of the building work has been paid for by the Amoria Group, our volunteers are 100% self-funded, having raised money for their trip through fundraising activities during the year.

This was our 5th volunteer trip to the refuge since 2010.

We’ve built 101 houses, providing homes and security for over 500 of the most vulnerable people in the community.

We also built three soup kitchens that feed hundreds of people every day. The facilities provide a safe space for vital social, health and educational facilities.

We have developed a friendship with the people of Las Laderas, and our long-term charity partners, Project Peru. We send them hundreds of care packages and essentials every Christmas.
